Butterscotch Caramel Sauce

Serve this Butterscotch Caramel Sauce with Pumpkin Bread Pudding. The sauce can also be served over ice cream or other desserts.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: Makes 1 1/2 cups
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup half and half, or light cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine butter, half and half, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the mixture is slightly thickened and just comes to a full boil. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla. Serve warm.
