Ingredients
SERVINGS: Makes 12
- 6 large cherry tomatoes
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese, ¼-inch thick
- 12 basil leaves
- 13 end slices of olives, 1 slice diced into tiny bits
- Drizzle of olive oil
- Sprinkle of sea salt
Preparation
Cut tomatoes in half, then slice halfway through each half to create “wings.” For each slice of mozzarella, layer cheese, then basil, then tomato half (skin side up). Add end slices of olives to the unsliced edges of tomatoes as “heads.” Use tiny bits of olive to make dots on the backs of the bugs. Sprinkle with sea salt and drizzle with olive oil.
