Blood Orange Margarita

These margaritas would be wonderful served with the Parra Family Tamales.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 4 Cup(s)
  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • ¾ cup simple syrup*
  • 2 cups fresh-squeezed blood orange juice
  • ½ cup tequila
  • Salt for rim, if desired
  • Extra lime and blood orange slices for garnish, if desired
*Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

Mix all ingredients together in a pitcher. To rim a glass with salt, rub blood orange juice around glass rim and dip in salt. Pour margaritas into glasses and garnish with lime and blood orange slices, optional.

*Simple Syrup

Place water and sugar in a saucepan and stir. Heat on low until sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes. Cool completely.
