“We feel strongly that different bodies need different foods and that these needs might change over a lifetime—there is no one-size-fits-all diet,” says Gabriella Chesneau, co-owner of the newly opened Food Harmonics in Ojai’s Arcade. “Yet all bodies need organic, nutritious food.”

The restaurant’s menu caters to paleo, vegan and vegetarian diets, but also offers dishes for an omnivorous clientele. “We love to see families come in where the mom is vegetarian, the dad isn’t and maybe the kids have gluten issues,” Chesneau says. “It’s nice to see families with different diets eat together.”

Everything at Food Harmonics is organic, gluten-free and sourced as locally as possible. “There are no fillers here,” says co-owner Veronica Larsson. “Every ingredient has a nutritional value and is a food that benefits your health.”

Dosas, salads, dahl, bone broth and raw vegan pizza each claim distinct health benefits. Even the desserts, like the Paleo Brownie or the Prana Bar, were designed to provide the energy of a small meal.

Diners have a choice of probiotic options, from sauerkraut or pickled vegetables to refreshing, lightly sweet housemade water kefir. For diners seeking a stronger kick, biodynamic wine, gluten-free beer and alcoholic kombucha are available.

Dover white walls were chosen to calm people as soon as they walk through the door. Inside seating frames the open kitchen, and an outdoor patio overlooks Arcade Plaza. “A lot of common health problems today stem from adrenal fatigue and over-stimulation of body and mind,” Larsson believes. “We want to make sure our food allows the body to relax.”
