Celebrating the Art of Community
Five months ago, Ambrosia by Caffrodite closed its doors, but today the vegan/vegetarian cafe has been transformed into a cosmic welcoming space that invites the community to meet, create, and collaborate. The newly named nonprofit, Caffrodite Community Collective (CCC), will be officially opening its doors in January 2020 with an Open House.
The collective offers membership levels for space rental, coffee/eco-shop, organic vegan/vegetarian catering, co-working open space, non-member event space, and open community events.
The Coffee/Eco-Shop will be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00am to 1:00pm to serve organic coffee and sell eco-friendly gifts. CCC is still reaching out for volunteers who are interested in helping out in the shop.
CCC and the Ventura Food Co-Op, led by Ron Whitehurst and Michelle Nosco, partnered to host a fundraiser potluck over the Thanksgiving weekend to help raise funds for CCC’s startup costs. The event was a wonderful success and included tortilla making and live music.
The Ventura Food Co-Op hopes to use the space for their members CSA pick up and CCC hopes to partner with more individuals, local organizations, and business to offer a safe and welcoming space for the community.
The non-profit is currently accepting membership applications for individual members and business/organizational members. Members will not only be offered rental space, but also some extra perks in the Coffee/ Eco-Shop.
