A celebration in the fields of late summer’s most abundant crop, the tomato! And launch of SESPEA's, Students Encouraging Social, Political, and Environmental Action, September Harvest of the Month recipe!

3:30 Farm Tour – Santa Paula High School SESPEA Presentation

4:00 - Salsa harvest, learn to properly harvest sun ripened tomatoes & expert tips from Farmer Guadalupe about how to care for your plants

4:30 - Salsa contest & tasting. Bring your own homemade salsa to enter into the contest!

5:00 - Cooking demo with chef Diego Felix & SESPEA Harvest of the Month launch. Games & art for kids

The Abundant Table farm in Camarillo is located on McGrath Family Farms off the 101, DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS. From the 101 take Central exit and head south on Central.

101 South: take a right on Central and a right after the bridge, follow signs to McGrath.

101 North: take a left on Central and a right after the bridge, follow signs to McGrath.

Drive past the main farmhouse and buildings on your left until you see a sign for The Abundant Table on your left. Park on the left hand side shoulder of the road and walk into the farm.

 

Cost: $5 per adult, free for CSA members. Fee waived if you sign up for the CSA on the farm! Please bring cash and your own bags for any tomato purchases. Please dress accordingly, closed toe shoes, hats and comfortable clothes and a homemade salsa (if you want to participate in the contest)
