Camarillo, CA /October 2, 2017 — “Cooking up dishes to support wishes”—that’s what the first annual Delicious Wishes event is all about, says Make-A-Wish CEO Pattie Mullins.

On Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm, the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE) will host a benefit dinner for Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties to raise awareness and funds for the region’s most vulnerable population—children with life-threatening illnesses.  The event will be held at Topa Mountain Winery in Ojai, CA. Guests will enjoy passed appetizers, wine and beer tastings, dinner and dessert, followed by heartfelt wish stories that will inspire hope and encourage the community to support these families during difficult times.

Members of the Ventura County Chapter of NACE are supporting the event by creating and catering the event, which will feature the culinary creations of Main Course CA and Sugar Lab Bake Shop. Wish kids will get to assist in the kitchen, creating two special dishes with Chef Tony Sewell of Main Course CA and Baker Ali Davis of Sugar Lab.

Other NACE members supporting the event include Amigos Party Rental, Major Event Trailers, Brandon Aquino Photography, Brown and Company, An Enlightened Event, Seasons Catering and others.

“We are honored to support the first annual Delicious Wishes event featuring local wishes and local dishes,” said Robert Jacobi, Owner of Main Course CA, and NACE board member. “I have a big heart for these Wish kids who face incredible challenges and we want to do all we can to support them. We hope this event is a lot of fun, increases awareness for Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties and we plan to fund a couple of wishes through this incredible event.”

A special guest for the evening will be Thousand Oaks resident Mashu Nishi who appeared in Master Chef Jr Season 5 with Gordon Ramsay.

“Make-A-Wish® serves a unique and vital role in helping to strengthen and empower children battling life-threatening medical conditions. Each wish we grant requires thoughtful coordination and support from donors and sponsors, volunteers, medical professionals and the community,” said Pattie Mullins, CEO, Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties. “We are so grateful for the generous support of NACE, who is stepping up to support the community in a fun and thoughtful way.  They are involving the kids, which gives them a unique experience and sense of involvement.”

Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties grants wishes to local kids battling life-threatening illnesses, bringing hope, joy and strength to families in the Tri Counties. In addition to cash donations, Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties asks for gift card donations to help with granting technology wishes, bedroom makeovers, shopping spree wishes and other unique wish experiences. Over 70 percent of the wishes granted require air travel so frequent flyer mile donations go a long way toward the eight million miles needed annually.

Founded in 1985, Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties has granted the wishes of more than 1,600 local children in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties along the central coast of California. Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties is located at 4001 Mission Oaks Blvd., Suite F, Camarillo, CA 93012.
